The play begins with the dealer’s left, dealing each player on the table in a clockwise fashion. The game play varies in the US and in the Europe. In the European No Hole Card Rule, the players are dealt with two cards and the dealer is dealt with one card face up. The players can choose his move, Stand, Hit or Split. Stand means the player does not want any more cards. Hit means he can ask for more cards. The player can keep on Hitting until he feels he needs to Stand or Bust. The player can Split if the two cards he has are of equal rank. If the dealer busts, the player wins. Else, the hands are compared and the player with higher hand value wins the game. In case of a tie, the value of the player’s bet is returned this is called a “push”.

In most American casinos, the dealer is dealt with one card face up and another face down. There are cases when the dealers face up card is 10, he will check for blackjack and if he does, the players lose right away. In games where players are dealt with cards face up, players are not allowed to touch the cards. However if they are dealt face down, the cards are held on the table by the players. The next cards will be dealt face up on the table. Players are not allowed to touch these cards. If you have a blackjack you should show your cards to the dealer when it is your turn.
